Project duration June 2014 - June 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim of CelluTex has been to strengthen European research on regenerated cellulosic fibres through influencing decision-makers within Horizon 2020. This was realized by spreading and anchoring the Cellutex message to the European commission. Objectives were to visualize the CelluTex message in H2020 so that the designated needs for research, development, innovation and demonstration within cellulose regeneration were found in the workprograms of H2020. An important result for CelluTex is that a call text originating from Södra was included in BBI JU 2015.

Expected results and effects

One expected effect of the work in Cellutex has been to visualize the need for research in the area bio-based fibres and specifically cellulose regeneration, where further research into processes are very important for the transition to a bio-based economy. A desired effect has been to find specific calls in H2020 where research projects can be applied for. In the project duration, the CelluTex message has been visible in the technology platforms forest and textile, as well as in BIC and directly to the commission through two lunch seminars in Brussels.

Planned approach and implementation

Advocay has been performed directly, through meetings and seminars, or indirectly through members of programme committees, expert/advisory groups, national reference groups, commissioners, trade associations, ETPs and policy documents. For future work it will be crucial to know the best timing for impacting the 2018-2019 work programs, in addition to finalizing two to three strategic calltexts which can be used in contacts with strategically positioned persons or groups.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
