Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 500 000
Project duration October 2025 - March 2026
Status Ongoing
Venture Cluster of Excellence for Cutting-Edge Technologies - calls for proposals
Call Visions for world-leading research and innovation in strategic technology areas

Purpose and goal

The cluster of excellence BAM – Bridging Advanced Materials´s objective is to accelerate the growth of companies working with advanced materials. The materials can enable many applications and technologies that contribute to both the green and digital transitions. To get there, companies and value chains must be able to scale up faster than today. This project will continue to gather the ecosystem towards a common vision and lay the foundations for a well-structured world-leading cluster.

Expected effects and result

The project will develop a vision for a world-leading cluster in advanced materials in Sweden. The outcome will include a growing ecosystem and an implementation path for the cluster. In the longer term, BAM will result in an internationally attractive cluster that contributes to increased competitiveness for an industry with sustainable value chains.

Planned approach and implementation

The work will focus on gathering the ecosystem around advanced materials, identifying and analyzing challenges, and developing a vision and an implementation strategy. The project will work inclusively and openly to expand the ecosystem with all stakeholders. Building on the existing ecosystems from the strategic innovation programs LIGHTer and SIO Grafen, as well as the IAM4Sweden initiative. The project will also interact with the parallel work on a roadmap for advanced materials.
