Purpose and goal
All project objectives were fulfilled: 1. We identified a market segment for our method which has large opportunities for growth. 2. We verified the technical performance of the new method on real industrial designs. 3. We established a cooperation with four new potential customers. 4. We made a market analysis and investigated suitable business models. 5. We protected IPR. 6. We compiled a plan for the next phase.
Results and expected effects
The project made possible: - To find a suitable market segment for our invention. - To develop a software tool implementing our method. - To verify and quantify the benefits of our method on real industrial designs. - To protect IPR. - To understand our future development and investment needs and costs.
Approach and implementation
We verified the technical performance of the new method on several large industrial designs and compared the results to existing techniques. The results convincingly demonstrate that the new method is superior to the traditional methods. Now we have powerful means of showing proof of concept to potential customers. We also developed a software tool implementing the new method. It uses a standardized interface and it is compatible with the existing CAD tools. This makes possible an easy integration of the new method into these tools.
