ATrAPP (ADHD Tracking Application) an application for monitoring treatment of ADHD

Reference number
Coordinator Stockholms läns landsting - ADHD mottagningen
Funding from Vinnova SEK 371 920
Project duration July 2014 - September 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

Initially being conceived as a relatively simple solution that complemented the existing EMR, ATrAPP has now grown to become a complete and independent IT system designed with a focus on usability, security, and flexibility. ATrAPPs flexible architecture with customized modules enables smooth adjustment to the care processes being developed for ADHD throughout SLSO. Moreover, ATrAPP can be individualized according to every patients current needs. The construction of our own server gives us full control over data storage and security.

Results and expected effects

ATrAPP consists of three parts, 1; Patient application (P-A) 2; Caregiver application (B-A) and 3; The Application server (A-S). P-A is individualized at the patient-level, follows the clinic´s existing treatment processes and can be connected to the IoT (Internet of Things), for example. blood pressure measurement. BA provides caregiver access to a detailed timeline of patient data. AS is the system´s core, and makes it independent. It complies with SLLs specified security requirements, and communicates with external systems such as the National Form Service, FASS and Take Care.

Approach and implementation

The challenge of the project has been, in spite of limited resources, to create an innovative solution that meets both healthcare and patient needs as well as all the safety requirements of IT systems in the healthcare sector. As conditions for immediate integration with existing national E-health initiatives have been missing, we have been forced to create an independent system with high adaptability. We have thus far chosen to prioritize the construction of a functioning system architecture instead of prioritizing testing of individual functions.
