Important results from the project

The goal of ASSET was to reach a common understanding of definitions, measurement methods and standards for Transport Efficiency, Sustainability and Safety / Security (TESS) and identify problems and needs as well as possible SoS strategies and use cases that support TESS. The ASSET project partially reached its goals and delivered its planned results in the form of 1) an inventory of SoS strategy to TESS, 2) an expanded research framework for SoS strategy to TESS and 3) a list of use cases in the form of customer journeys in CLL Jämtland.

Expected long term effects

The results of ASSET are: 1) a systematic compilation of transport KPIs in three dimensions (efficiency, durability and safety), use practices, interest organizations and standards for these KPIs, relationship between KPIs and use cases, and the KPIs role and barriers in the evaluation of TESS in SoS solutions, 2) an extended research framework for SoS strategy to TESS on questions about data economies that provide incentives for data sharing and 3) a list of use cases in the form of customer trips in CLL Jämtland. These results contribute to FFI´s and SoSSUM´s program goals.

Approach and implementation

The work in ASSET was carried out in four work packages: - WP1: Inventory of SoS approaches to increase transport efficiency, sustainability and safety (TESS) - WP2: Framework of research areas, questions, and themes - WP3: Definition of use cases / demos in CLL Jämtland - WP4: Scaling up: Writing of full SoSSUM application The work was carried out in form of online project meetings, 2 workshops, desk study of scientific literature, standards, internal documents regarding capabilities and goals of the organizations and structured interviews of stakeholders.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
