Purpose and goal
To gather stakeholders in sustainable urban development (430 participants) in Sweden to create collaboration platforms have been made. Summereing of each mission and work, visiulize support projects and the results of them were made. Present actors who take responsibility for a national arena. These can include the continued collaboration between M-UF and VINNOVA innovation platforms, M-UF and Boverket aboutd social aspects of urban development, M-UF event ´Dialog i stadsbyggnad´ building on ´Stadsbyggnadsdialogen´. Many of the players came up through the network cavalcade.
Results and expected effects
The conference has helped put the concept of sustainable cities on the map of Sweden and to provide participants with tools to build a sustainable city. Participants have gained an insight into where the Delegation for Sustainable cities´ funding has gone and have been able to see examples through movie and study on best practices that lead to a more sustainable city. The same applies to the Environmental Protection Agency to support Lipp and Klimp, VINNOVA and M-UF´s projects. The conference has also helped to create and maintain valuable networks and to provide a forum for outreach.
Approach and implementation
The conference featured lectures from management in sustainable urban development from government, committees, offices and foundations which contributed to finanising in this area. It focused on five themes: Green technology and environmental innovations, City mobility, The central human role, Resources and ecosystem services, and City synergies and linkages. People meeting in breaks and at social activities in the evenings were offered. Network cavalcade with presentation of 18 networks, project cavalcade with success stories and lectures. 8 study visits were offered.
