Project duration July 2019 - September 2020
Status Completed
Venture Collaboration projects in cybersecurity and digital infrastructure

Purpose and goal

The project has, through the development of specifications, open source code and services, created the conditions for efficiently archiving electronic signatures in a way that enables savings compared to archiving paper documents. A service that supports validation and archiving of electronic signatures based on the project´s open source code has been put into operation at SUNET in support of Swedish universities.

Expected results and effects

The expected effect of this project is that the developed architecture will become the norm in Swedish public services as well as being developed to become international standard. By increasing the possibility of using electronic signatures, the project is also expected to contribute to an increased opportunity to be able to conduct effective remote working in cases where such work requires the opportunity to be able to sign important documents and decisions.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been carried out in an open process that included both workshops with the industry as well as a number of meetings with representatives of Swedish universities and collaboration meetings with representatives of the Swedish Agency for Digital Administration (DIGG). The project´s results in the form of a service that has been put into operation within the framework of SUNET´s signature service eduSign have included training, documentation, integration and handover to the operating organization.
