Purpose and goal

With the advances in TIMEBLY as a basis, and the fact that process planning of manual assembly and other tasks is still a repetitive work that requires specialist skills, the ambition is to further improve and streamline the process planning work. Through the possibilities that AI, digitalisation and simulation offer, we intend to radically improve, and partly automate, method description and time determination of manual assembly.

Expected effects and result

Through innovative and responsible development and use of AI in Swedish industry, the project can strengthen manufacturing companies´: (1) competitiveness in terms of quality, resources used, and ability to respond quickly to changes, (2) working environment for operators in terms of ergonomics and work content, and (3) digitalization competence can be raised through increased use of AI and digital human models and system models.

Planned approach and implementation

The project builds on knowledge on Time Data Management that was developed in the TIMEBLY project through three technical work packages: WP1 AI interpretation of assembly method, WP2 AI interpretation of movements from video, and WP3 DHM movements based on predetermined times, optimization and AI. Det fourth work package deals with user-friendly, efficient and ethical AI application. Finally, we intend to show the effects of the new technologies individually and together in demonstrators.
