Important results from the project
The project objectives have been largely met during the project. The technical solution for positioning shows good potential and is ready to be taken to the next stage for productization. The technical solution also needs to be refined to achieve sufficient robustness in varying types of landscapes and weather/light conditions. The demonstrator has been successfully demonstrated to the project´s customer at Ljungbyhed Airport.
Expected long term effects
The project has, through the developed demonstrator, demonstrated an alternative method for positioning from aircraft, which in the long term will be able to provide a good complement to traditional GNSS-based positioning. The project has also contributed to an expanded network between participating project partners and future customers.
Approach and implementation
The project has been largely implemented according to plan. Requirements definition, system design, integration, validation and demonstration have been carried out according to the set time periods.
