Important results from the project
The project investigates the feasibility of using AI to streamline the distribution of spare parts and service information. Through collaboration with industrial partners and real-life use cases, prototype solutions have been developed. The results demonstrate the relevance of the solutions and show that the solutions are feasible, scalable, and applicable across different manufacturing companies, thereby strengthening the competitiveness and efficiency of the Swedish manufacturing industry.
Expected long term effects
By validating AI-based solutions for after-sales services through prototypes, the project establishes a foundation for scalable industrial deployment. These solutions can improve efficiency, spare parts availability, and customer satisfaction while reducing costs and resource waste. In doing so, the project strengthens the competitiveness of the Swedish manufacturing industry and positions Sweden as a leading actor in industrial AI applications.
Approach and implementation
The project was led by KTH in collaboration with the development partner Signifikant AB. Through several co-creation workshops with the associated partner, Atlas Copco Air Power, relevant use cases and preliminary requirements were defined, and relevant data was provided. The project was structured into five work packages, with KTH responsible for research, project management, and planning for the next project phase, while Signifikant developed the prototypes.
