Important results from the project
Develop an innovative housing alternative, based on coliving, ie an alternative where living space is shared with several residents. The project has been focusing on elderly women, a growing group that spends a lot of time at home and in need of accessibility, safety and social stimulation in the home. In the long run, the concept will developed to suit all who wants to colive.
Expected long term effects
By introducing coliving in the housing stock of the public utility, one can increase resource use of space, and thus develop high-quality housing at a reasonable cost. The goal is a housing with: - a max rent of SEK 4000 / month - 30% reduced climate impact / pp - extended community and access to more services
Approach and implementation
Development work is primarily done in these areas: Needs - A user-driven design development that develops and tests new solutions through participation of users; to design the concept to meet the wishes of the residents. The architecture - the planning of residential zones within the home, for private and shared space, and how new types of functions and rooms can be included in the dwelling. Business development - How is coliving designed in the public interest; how are the spaces rented out, how is the rent and contracts set. Calculations of costs and solutions are obtained from test beds.
