Important results from the project

The project met and exceeded its goals. The planned mobility was completed successfully and established a strong MDU–SMU collaboration, resulting in joint research and shared publications. Additional spin-offs include a joint VR proposal and increased international visibility and networks for MDU through the collaboration with Prof. David Lo.

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to create lasting impact by sustaining the MDU–SMU collaboration, enabling continued joint research and high-quality publications. It strengthens MDU’s international visibility and networks, supports future invited roles, and increases competitiveness for external funding (e.g., follow-up proposals). It also builds capacity through knowledge transfer and long-term collaboration routines.

Approach and implementation

The project was implemented through structured mobility and continuous collaboration between MDU and SMU. Mobility at SMU took place in three planned periods: Nov–Dec 2024, May–Jun 2025, and Nov–Dec 2025. Scheduling considered Prof. Lo’s availability (incl. personal leave). Collaboration was reinforced by meetings at ICSA (Mar 2025, Denmark), FSE (Jun 2025, Norway), and ASE (Nov 2025, South Korea).
