Important results from the project
From a logistics actor perspective, the consortium has detailed the need for new functions and systems to achieve resource-efficient transport planning and increased transport efficiency. The new functions will utilize AI, and various conceptual solutions have been developed. The concepts have also been designed to be efficiently adaptable to new conditions and to be resilient. The parties have also identified the possibility of locating data infrastructure and computing power in Sweden.
Expected long term effects
The consortium assesses that once the developed solution concepts are realized, they can contribute to achieving several of FFI´s central goals, including: -By increasing the fill rate and enabling smarter ways to combine trips, transports can become more efficient. This facilitates planning for BETs and contributes to the transition towards fossil-free road transport. -The project is expected to contribute to building competence and industry growth in the use of AI in the logistics sector
Approach and implementation
During the project period the stakeholders have met regularly every other week. The logistics stakeholder, LBC Frakt, has conducted a thorough current state and needs analysis. Solution and innovation concepts have been jointly developed within the project group. A concept architecture has been created, and the activities required to realize the concepts have been detailed. Furthermore, proposals for the competence and equipment required to develop solutions in a main project have been prepared.
