Important results from the project
By adapting the food and food concepts for older consumers, the project has achieved its goals and purpose. An innovative value chain that provides choices for the elderly concerning their food and meal situations, this in terms of meal content and when to eat the meal. The chain starts from making a choice of what to eat and ends in a solution on how to dispose the waste. The holistic approach is of importance. Some of the products developed in the project can be found on the market. Products and concepts have been developed based on the wishes and needs of the target group.
Expected long term effects
Participating partners have in cooperation with each other jointly developed new customized services and products based on needs and wishes of the elderly. This was done by developing new food products, packaging and distribution chains. Innovation to achieve a holistic concept around food for the elderly has benefited all participants. With new and innovative business solutions that create interaction between the private and public sectors will ensure sustainable long-term solutions of high quality.
