Status Completed

Purpose and goal

Experimentation and visualization of SME and customer driven business model for new construction. This work has confirmed the ICT system and business model opportunities in the current market. In connection with the testing of full-scale, it was found that the commercial software vendors could not meet the advertised functionality. This was an unwanted notice that the partners investigated further and developed a proposed solution which needs to be implemented before the innovation Achoice can be commercialized.

Results and expected effects

Achoice expects to lead to higher margins and better profitability for Swedish SMEs in the construction industry It was confirmed that Achoice provides up to 20% lower cost and the partners have a high profitability already within 3 years Commercialization requires further directed development, addressed by the partners; * A project plan for further work * Enhanced consortium with two partners with leading expertise * Secured a continuing Danish collaboration that provides complementary expertise, and market * Secured access to construction projects for further full-scale tests

Approach and implementation

Within Achoice we have always worked with milestones and incremental funding. The project´s successful outcome depends among others on that with clear milestones, it is easier to get commitment from participating stakeholders and partners, and to follow the economy That we now have identified a previously unknown lack of knowledge is (unfortunately) natural and common in all innovations. This deficiency has not been possible to predict when many vendors market themselves to having this functionality. This must be developed before Achoice in their current form can be commercialized
