Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The overall goal of the accompanying research project was to monitor, draw insights and facilitate mutual learning about the implementation of system demonstrators for climate neutral cities. The focus in the interactive research process has been on understanding how the cities have interpreted the concept and how they work with the system demonstrator as an instrument (in general), as well as acting as a sounding board in the cities´ work with portfolio thinking and follow-up/learning processes.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Through interactive dialogue with the instrument design team and with the cities, as well as benchmarking of two similar system demonstrator efforts internationally, the accompanying research has raised perceived challenges and insights from the planning phase, and introduced routines for follow-up and reflection. Results from the accompanying research were presented and discussed at a summary workshop in June 2024 (ppt attached) and are the basis for planning the next phase of accompanying research (during the implementation phase).

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Structured dialogue with the system demonstrator instrument team (monthly, with shifting themes in focus) and with the cities (two interviews and a number of other meetings focused on follow-up/learning from system level change) has been the interactive way of working for data collection and analysis. Structured benchmarking with two other cases has been complementary. These routines for reflection and sensemaking have led to the co-creation of insights and ideas for further development going forward.
