Project duration September 2014 - December 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

Lifestyle and psychiatric ill-health is increasing, as well as sick leave. At the same time, we can recognise a decreasing will to invest in personnel health from many employers. One reason is that it is often difficult to measure actual outcome of previous investments and to identify effective measures. The aim has been to develop a web based tool that can be used by employers and managers in order to clarify the economic effects of personnel health and efficiency in implemented health investments. The result to be launched February 2016 is Hei - Health Economic Insight (gohei.se).

Results and expected effects

Hei is available in two versions: One free version that offers a possibility for an organisation to calculate costs for sick leave and poor health, as well as get an overview of costs and efficiency in existing health investments. In the full version, all calculations can be tailor-made to the actual organisation and provides possibilities to make calculations on various organisational levels, comparisons between units as well as over time. Data is presented in clear and concise reports with additional analyses and recommendations.

Approach and implementation

The development has been conducted in dialogue with various employers. We have also tested various ways of presenting data. Through this, we have built extensive experience about effective presentations.
