Small and medium-sized companies are investing in digital transformation

Small and medium-sized companies are important for producing innovations that drive development in business and society, but these companies often have difficulty finding funding in the early stages of development projects where the risks are great.

Vinnova provides funding for research and development projects with great commercial potential, which can also contribute to sustainable development.

- The proportion of companies applying to make some type of digital conversion has been more than in previous application rounds. We believe this is not a coincidence but an effect of corona, but where many have realized that there are needs that require new solutions also for the future, says Yassman Fooladianpour, responsible for the announcement at Vinnova.

Examples of innovation support:

• Hilda Music Theatre Art Production AB, will develop a service that enables music production companies and artists to easily create digital live performances, receive payments and distribute income and rights to participants.
• Swedish Frames AB, will develop a digital trade fair in 3D that simulates the function and experience of an analogue trade fair by allowing visitors to walk among exhibitors with products and offers.
• 365 ID AB, will develop a mobile ID application that enables individuals to digitally check and view where and when their ID documents are used, which can counter fraud.
• Rumblestrip AB will develop a new service that reduces carbon dioxide emissions during freight transport by truck by optimizing freight flows, which at the same time increases profitability in the industry.
• Bofood AB, will develop vegetable dairy products based on Swedish-grown crops, based on the combination of milk from field beans and a new modified Swedish rapeseed oil, which can replace fats such as palm oil and coconut oil and protein from soy.
• Meta Mind AB, will develop a carbon dioxide calculation tool for small and medium-sized companies, which can also highlight areas where the company can improve.
