The projects will investigate opportunities and obstacles and present concrete proposals for initiatives that will make it easier for different actors to switch to a circular and bio-based economy.
A circular economy is based on cycles and deals with such things as recycling, recycling and sharing to make best use of resources. Bio-based economics is based on biological materials, rather than fossil-based.
There are 11 project that receive funding with a total of SEK 10 million.
Examples of project:
Policy for new Swedish biofuels
Sweden has succeeded in replacing about 20 percent of fossil fuels with biofuels, but it largely consists of imports. The objective project is to facilitate investments in new Swedish biofuels and to propose the way for the introduction of biofuels for the transport sector, including domestic air and sea transport.

"Textile to textile" in a quality assured recycling process
There are currently eligibility requirements for recycling along the entire value chain, and therefore the cheapest method is often to burn discarded clothing. The project will clarify how responsibility issues and requirements can be developed in order to be able to set eligibility requirements for textiles to be eligibility requirements. In the project, clients, suppliers and recycling companies are represented.

Funding of circular business models
Funders' assessment processes are not designed to handle circular business models. The project will develop a prototype for a new financial assessment model for circular business models. The project is run in collaboration with academia and companies in the financial sector.
