Are you interested in research and innovation with societal relevance in the fields of ocean, water, and the blue economy? Welcome to an information meeting where you will learn about upcoming relevant calls in Horizon Europe that will be open in 2026 and 2027.

Horizon Europe is the EU’s research and innovation programme running until 2027. With two years remaining, the final calls have now been developed. In this information meeting, we will present the parts of the programme most relevant to stakeholders working with research and innovation related to oceans, water, and the blue economy.

he EU Mission on Restoring our Ocean and Waters include calls focused on restoring aquatic ecosystems, reducing or eliminating pollution, and creating a sustainable and circular blue economy. Projects are carried out in collaboration across both national and sectoral boundaries.

BlueActionsBANOS is a project within the EU Mission that funds local initiatives working in these areas. Funding is available for coordinating local stakeholders around a transition agenda or implementing a larger, community-driven local project.

Horizon Europe consists of six thematic clusters. The sixth cluster, focusing on food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture, and environment, also includes relevant calls within the framework of the he EU Mission on Restoring our Ocean and Waters. As with the EU Mission, these are larger projects conducted across borders and involving a wide range of stakeholders.

In addition to presentations on upcoming calls for 2026 and 2027, you will hear from Swedish participants in projects that have received funding through Horizon Europe. There will be opportunities to ask questions about their journey, as well as more technical questions regarding the calls presented and the application process.

The information meeting is aimed at researchers, aquaculture professionals, public sector representatives, civil society actors, businesses, and others interested in ocean and water issues and the transition to a sustainable blue economy.
