On 1–2 June 2023, Sweden's presidency of the Council of the European Union – in collaboration with the European Innovation Council (EIC) – will host a high-level conference on technology-intensive entrepreneurship for an innovative, resilient and competitive internal market.
The technology-intensive sector is a sector that Sweden and the EU prioritize so that Europe's competitiveness can be strengthened on a global level. The conference is intended to be a forum for knowledge exchange and joint implementation, within the framework of the new European agenda for innovation and the action plan for intellectual property rights.
During the conference, the focus will be on some central challenges:
- The importance of research-intensive companies for the green and digital transition
- Strategic use and management of intangible assets
- Funding for growth in Europe
- Improved collaboration between small research-intensive companies, large companies and the academic world
Vinnova has been tasked with contributing expertise around these challenges, and is also developing co-creative workshops and study visits for the conference.
The conference brings together key players from EU organizations and representatives from national and regional decision-making bodies, the start-up ecosystem, the venture capital world, academia and industry.
The conference is organized as part of Sweden's presidency of the EU. Participation in the physical meeting is by invitation only.
The program on the main stage will be webcast.
