EUREKA Co-Innovation Grant Call for R&D Projects – Sustainable Cities
National financing parties part of EARTH Alliance funds organizations wanting to participate in international R&D-projects within the topic sustainable cities. You can apply for this EUREKA call between September 1st 2025 and January 22nd 2026 and to the Vinnova part of the call you can apply between September 1st 2025 and January 29th 14.00 CET. Your R&D-project must contain at least two of the countries within EARTH Alliance in the EUREKA network project.
The offer in brief
What can you apply for?
R&D project within an international collaborative project for the development of solutions for sustainable cities that leads to the production & development of a product, process or service for commercialization and implementation of project results.
Who can apply?
Each project consortium must include at least one organization from Sweden and at least one organization from one of the other four participating countries.
How much can you apply for?
SMEs can apply for up to 50%, large companies for 30% and universities and research institutes for up to 100% of the eligible costs. The total funding is 6 million SEK. The maximum project duration is 24 months.

Vinnova's general terms and conditions for fundingEligible costs and funding
Swedish project participants can apply for funding according to Vinnova's general terms and conditions for funding. The rules on state aid apply to organizations that conduct economic activities:

The rules on state aid for research, development and innovation are set out in the European Commission's General Block Exemption Regulation No 651/2014 (GBER).
In this call for proposals Article 25 of the GBER applies with basis for support for industrial research. In addition, the following funding levels apply: SMEs up to 50% of the eligible costs, large companies up to 30% of the eligible costs and universities and research institutes up to 100% of the eligible costs.

Once your proposal has been registered, we will email a confirmation to the person responsible for the user account, as well as the project manager and the signatory. This may take a few hours after the call for proposals closes. If you have not received a confirmation within 24 hours of the call for proposals closing, please contact us.
Once the call for proposals is closed, you cannot change or fill in any new information. You can only supplement your proposal if we ask you to.
Who can read your proposal?
Applications submitted to us become public documents. However, we do not disclose information about the company's operations, inventions or research results if it can be assumed that someone will suffer financial damage if the information is disclosed.
This means that we must disclose the documents if someone requests them. However, we keep confidential the information that we believe could cause financial damage if disclosed.

How to apply
To apply for funding from us, you need to fill in a longer application, which we then assess in competition with others. If we decide to finance your project, you need to report to us how the project is going, so that we can see that you carry out the project as you described in the application.
