Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project concerns an overhaul and optimization of an instrument for the detection of ovarian cancer and includes sensor characterization, calibration, GC/MS testing and testing of ovarian cancer samples. During the course of the project, we re-prioritised the development of the detection algorithm in favor of calibration and GC/MS testing. We await the results from the measurement of the cancer samples. Based on completed measurements, we have achieved acceptable results.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** We detect 95% of cancer samples and 80% of control samples based on completed measurements and calculations from raw data. Assuming we achieve this with 20 ovarian cancer samples, we achieve a GO decision to continue the project.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** We have followed the plan presented in work package 1 and developed a new detection algorithm using Matlab through an iterative process. The work has been carried out by Jens Eriksson at LiU in close collaboration with Jan Erik Hedborg and Claes Post.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
