Important results from the project
The purpose of the grant from Vinnova was to finance the preparatory work of writing an EU application. This aim has both been fulfilled and further developed. On the one hand, the grant resulted in us being able to make a more thorough proposal and research, which led to a larger partnership than planned and a broader proposal than planned. In addition, the work led to a positive spin-off effect, where we will continue working within the partnership with another new proposal.
Expected long term effects
If the EU-project (and the spin-off project) is granted funding in accordance with submitted applications, we will have an opportunity during the coming three years to develop coastal regions in the Baltic Sea area with research and participatory-based methods that can have a major and positive effect on the area´s development and attractiveness by counteracting gentrification processes and seasonal overtourism.
Approach and implementation
Expert advice was obtained from the programme offices, which showed that the original partnership and project idea were too narrow. The project thus established more partnerships with more competencies and thus made a larger application than planned. The planned work packages were approved and received letter of support from the policy area coordinators. In addition, the preparatory work has led to a spin-off with the partnership, where we are working with new project applications.
