Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** This feasibility study has investigated the following questions: Need for data-driven analysis in different application cases for electric drive systems equipped with new power semiconductor technology for rail vehicles Optimal and resilient edge-cloud system architecture Potential for exploiting the smart sensor functions in power semiconductor applications

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The various sub-investigations have, among other things, resulted in the definition of three main application cases, description of an Cloud-IoT pipeline, edge data management, and concepts for smart sensor solutions. The project´s results have been summarized in a number of identified development needs which have since already begun to be translated into applications for implementation projects.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project has taken place in collaboration between Alstom and RISE in a number of sub-investigations where RISE has focused on architecture studies and tests of edge functionality while Alstom has studied application cases, smart sensor functions. The parties have collaborated on studies of ML/AI applications. The parties have been able to easily define and distribute the tasks with a minimum of administration, which given that it is a smaller feasibility study project has been very beneficial.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
