Learning processes for carbon requirements within the Swedish Transport Administration

Reference number
Coordinator WSP Sverige AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 250 000
Project duration April 2024 - May 2025
Status Completed

Important results from the project

The project has provided a unique opportunity to study the STA´s organisational learning linked to the implementation of carbon requirements over 10 years, which was the purpose of the project. It is very unusual in the construction industry to take the time to reflect on developments over such a long time and learn from them. An article for the IPSERA conference describes, among other things, policy development, sources of inspiration, organizational development, challenges and opportunities.

Expected long term effects

The results will continue to be processed and used in various ways by those involved in the project group and the reference group at WSP, the STA and KTH. This will, among other things, lead to the publication of scientific articles with conclusions and recommendations to other large international public clients. The work process itself has also been very interesting and rewarding for everyone involved, which will probably provide insights and effects for continued learning.

Approach and implementation

The project has been carried out in the following parts: - Analysis of input data, data, experiences and results from previous projects, such as the STA´s control stations for climate requirements - Workshop with a number of key people within STA to develop a timeline for important influences and milestones in the development - Supplementary interviews with other key people within STA to gain more perspectives on the development - Analysis and processing of data for reports and articles

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
