Call Aeronautical research in small and medium-sized enterprises autumn 2023

Important results from the project

The main goal of expanding the flight envelope for the drone was achieved as the flight-critical systems functioned correctly during tests conducted in various weather conditions. Among other things, the system was validated under the following weather conditions in realistic scenarios or in a climate chamber: - Wind: 18 m/s - Precipitation: 10 mm/h - Temperature: -30°C to +40°C

Expected long term effects

The project has contributed to Everdrone maintaining its position as a world leader in delivering drone solutions for the emergency response sector. The flight envelope has been expanded thanks to the project, enabling drones to assist emergency services in critical operations more frequently than was previously possible.

Approach and implementation

Everdrone has conducted a significant amount of flight hours in varying weather conditions. In addition to this, tests have been carried out in the climate chamber at RECAS in Trollhättan, where the drone system has been tested under precise conditions. The parameters examined included temperature, precipitation, wind, and icing conditions.
