Important results from the project
The project aimed to map who in Sweden is responsible for water supply in the event of a crisis. The result can be summarized as follows: the area of emergency water is being started up, but there is currently no national strategy and the responsibility for water supply is divided between municipal water companies, which causes crisis solutions to vary greatly. This makes it difficult for technology developers to target this customer group.
Expected long term effects
In the longer term, the results could lead key individuals in Sweden to consider and evaluate air-water as a full-fledged alternative to surface-water, and it could create and grow a market for air-water equipment in Sweden that makes it worthwhile for technology developers to invest resources in developing new products.
Approach and implementation
The project was designed to identify key people in Swedish water management and interview them; to reduce the number of interviewees, it was assumed that regions that had previously experienced water stress (e.g. Gotland and Kalmar) would have more developed emergency water management plans and would therefore be able to provide more developed answers.
The project developed according to plan and followed the schedule. No unexpected events occurred.
