Syfte och mål

Together with counter parts in Getinge Life Science, this project has surveyed and identified 4 solutions to needs and problems faced by the Pharma Industry and Biopharmaceutical production facilities solvable by the combined portfolio of SMNC and Getinge Life Science. This project has produced plans and work packages, identified project partners and obstacles in efforts to set the stage for the realisation of these solutions in the future. We have achieved better understanding of industry’s R&D structure and timeline, and begun adapting to it to afford better future collaborations

Resultat och förväntade effekter

Work done in this project has produced plans and work packages, identified project partners and obstacles for 4 solutions to problems faced in the projection of Biologics. 2 of 4 proposed solutions have generated good interest, and we will continue to source for funds through calls from various academic funding bodies. 1 proposed solution to increase sustainability of production is in the process of being refined with additional partners. While R&D has not begun due to lack of funding, ideas generated have good potential and collaboration is continuing beyond this project.

Upplägg och genomförande

This project started on 2018-05-02, for a planned duration of 1 year, and subsequently extended to close on 2019-12-20. Dr Choong at the Swedish Medical Nanoscience Center (SMNC), coordinated activities in the project. Generous support was received from Getinge through numerous consultation with key persons in the organisation, and the leasing of and DPTE system to SMNC for research and planning. Project 1 has been a continuous process, and is still commencing to date, wherein results and ideas area still being refined. During Spring 2019, a first attempted for funding was attempted.
