Syfte och mål
Purpose was to evaluate the HSQ coating regarding wear resistance, compensation of topography on textured surfaces, and to adjust the gloss level to appropriate values. Fulfillment: Wear resistance 100%
Resultat och förväntade effekter
HSQ coating is very well suited to extend resistance against wear from f. ex. thermo plastics in injection moulds where high gloss is desired. Textures can easily be compensated to give adequate textures on plastic parts after f. i. etching or laser engraving. It can only be used where comparatively high gloss values are acceptable/desired.
Upplägg och genomförande
Wear resistance has been tested partly in injection mould where no wear or damage has occurred after production of > 300.000 details in ABS. Accelerated wear test with aluminum oxide has been performed with very good result.
