Syfte och mål
The objective of MegaM@Rt2 was to create an integrated suite of methods, and tools that supports model-driven Engineering as well as provide knowledge and competence around MBSE. Volvo CE is keen on adopting techniques to facilitate digital transformation in its development processes. As a specific case, for MegaM@RT2 project, Volvo CE set an objective to explore methods that can support the development of highly configurable diesel engine systems. Collaboration with MDH and partners such as Softeam, have shown improvements across various phases of the development process.
Resultat och förväntade effekter
Volvo Construction Equipment applied and evaluated new method and tools for model-based systems engineering, product line engineering and model-based testing for the development and validation of engine control software. A potential improvement in terms of reduction of development lead time and increase in product quality was demonstrated by using tools developed by Mälardalens Högskola and other consortium partners. Results has provided Volvo CE an opportunity to apply the emerging standards and best-practices as evident from increased focus on systems modeling.
Upplägg och genomförande
Over the course of 3 years, Volvo CE participated in Swedish and global meetings including all European partners and provided industrial input and challenges. During the meetings, requirements and other use case information was presented to all partners. Volvo CE also participated in technical hackathons which significantly facilitated collaboration between partners. With support from Mälardalens högskola, Volvo CE evaluated the MegaM@Rt2 tool set and completed various project deliverables showcasing the results.
