Site Visits During Deep Tech Conference

On Thursday 1 of June, between 9:00-11:00, you are able to visit one of Sweden's leading companies within Deep Tech, You can listen in on panel discussions about the next generation of AI at Microsoft or visit the Ericsson Imagine studio to see what the future holds, or learn about the Swedish model for university spin-outs at KTH Innovation. These site visits are primarily for the participants of the Deep Tech conference at Scandiavian XPO on June 1-2. There is a limited number of places available, and a waiting list will be established if the event gets fully booked. There will be buses running from Scandinavian XPO at Arlandstad to Stockholm. And for the visit to Ericsson in Kista, there will also be a bus from Stockholm City. The buses will take you back to the venue in time for lunch and the start of the conference.

Ericsson Imagine Studio: 5G and the digial transformation

Since its foundation, Ericsson has created technology that connects people anywhere and everywhere. The research and development in mobile networks gave rise to digital voice in 2G, mobile data in 3G and the app economy in 4G. The years following the launch of 4G created a wave of innovation where digitization revolutionized consumers’ use of smartphones with apps and new services. Sweden was among the frontrunners in implementing and introducing 4G which enabled completely new companies in all industrial sectors such as gaming, entertainments, music, transport, manufacturing and retail. With the evolution of 5G, the rest of society and industries will undergo an equivalent digital transformation. This visit to Ericsson Imagine Studio will explore what the future could hold and new emerging technologies in development. The second part of the visit will consist of a demo tour showcasing the innovative use and benefits of 5G technology.

KTH Innovation: The Swedish model for university spin-offs 

KTH Royal Institute of Technology is the engine of Stockholm’s celebrated innovation ecosystem. At the center for entrepreneurship at the university is the internationally acclaimed KTH Innovation, providing world-class support to student, faculty and staff in developing close to 400 new technology ideas per year. Specializing in early-stage idea development with particular expertise in deeptech technology, KTH Innovation today counts over 400 active alumni startups creating impact worldwide.

Your visit to KTH Innovation will include meetings with university-founded deeptech startups, and insights into the “Swedish model” for creating successful university spin-outs, including KTH Innovation’s unique startup innovation support framework, the KTH innocation Readiness Level model. This framework, which was inspired by NASA, is used by hundreds of universities and organizations worldwide.
