Important results from the project

The project achieved good results in relation to the goals, not least in terms of dissemination and the launch of a climate calculator with individual carbon dioxide quota that was developed within the project and is now available on Skistar´s public website. The project also reached many relevant actors, especially in connection with Almedalen with one public event and one high-level event, but also good results in terms of the involvement of staff, experts and local actors during the work.

Expected long term effects

With the launch of the climate calculator service together with Skistar, the project has the potential to both influence individuals´ travel choices and to act as a positive example of the application of foresight methods beyond experimentation. In the future, there is also the possibility of offering more actors similar solutions such as white label service and such discussions are already underway, which could mean further spread and impact.

Approach and implementation

Kairos Future and Skistar have jointly explored the future of sustainable travel with a focus on ski tourism. Experts, visitors and staff have been involved in the work, with the aim of creating and spreading knowledge about sustainable travel as well as accelerating change. Within the project, a future prototype has been developed in the form of an app with an individual carbon dioxide budget. After testing with travelers and experts, the app has been integrated on Skistar´s web.
