Vulnerable road users - Escooter

Purpose and goal

Enable on-track testing with electric scooters and vehicles. Develop proposals for test objects in the form of a electric scooter. Evaluate relevant scenarios based on the Euro NCAPs protocol.

Expected results and effects

This feasibility study deals with how verification tests of ADAS can be carried out with the electric scooter as a new objective. The focus will be on the testing itself, ie the development of a safe test goal, method development which includes relevant scenarios to test and how today´s vehicles manage to pay attention to the electric kick cyclist. Through this, AstaZero increases its ability to assist vehicle and sensor manufacturers with testmethods and testequipment. It also creates the opportunity for AstaZero to actively contribute to Euro NCAPs´s development of future protocols.

Planned approach and implementation

-Measurement of a normal electric scooter cyclist with help from CONVICTION. -Dialogue with the Swedish vehicle cluster to gather already existing experiences. -An objective of an electric park cyclist is built up and simple tests are performed to look at response. -Test against the created electric park cyclist goal for see how today´s vehicles handle the object. -Input in the ISO work to reach standards for different equipment. -Evaluate and test against some of Euro NCAPs´s existing scenarios for cyclists and see what is considered relevant for electric scooters.
