Purpose and goal

Uppfinnarlotsen is a project that guides, supports and develops the inventor and his/her project by education, and practical help in multiple steps. Sweden is recognised by its ability to innovate and is highly ranked internationally regarding patents per inhabitant, but is not as highly ranked regarding commercialisation. In the project UppfinnarLotsen we have set the focus on inventors with early ideas and to give them support from experienced inventors, innovators, specialists and entrepreneurs and thereby get knowledge, practical guidance, networks, business contacts etc.

Expected results and effects

We wish in this project to show that adding experience in innovation development and contemporary adding experience of entrepreneurship the inventors will have a better possibility for success. The project wish to contribute with this combination of support in order to help the inventor to faster get closer to implement his/her idea. Education and guidance by experienced innovation developers and entrepreneurs should thereby lead to more ideas and inventions to be commercialised, more businesses to be started and more jobs to be created in Sweden.

Planned approach and implementation

In short, the implementation of the project can be described as a number of parallel flows, all based on GUF´s well documented processes, members´ unique experience, knowledge and GUF´s extensive network in close collaboration with other established actors. The role of GUF is to pilot the inventor in the early stages of his project idea. We help with everything from market research, market information, consumer insights, conceptual description, validation, intellectual property rights and its strategies to a complete business base to go to, for example, Almi for further assistance.
