Important results from the project
The project´s aim was to build Europe´s best incubator in Life science, which in an excellent way transforms academic research into growing companies. During the project period, UBI has completed the development of its Financing phase and started construction on the incubator processes that are part of our Grow phase. This project have not financed the development of these process steps, but this project has enjoyed the effects of the processes. In 2021, UBI was named Europe´s most innovative Life science incubator and one of the 25 best Life science incubators in Europe.
Expected long term effects
During the project period, UBI has coached a total of 38 business ideas, of which 15 within this project as only these have met the eligibility requirements by Vinnova. 19 of our business ideas have been too early as they have not yet incorporated and 4 have been too late as they have taken in too much external equity. During the period 2018-2020, UBI´s incubator case / company attracted SEK 113 million in funding, of which funding and SEK 56 million is venture capital. During the period 2018 and 2019, 44 jobs were created, of which 35 FTE in the incubator companies and our alumni.
Approach and implementation
