Purpose and goal

The goal of the project is to pin point the need of planning and procuring new waste management solutions for new area Brunnshög, in the municipality of Lund. The results of the project will provide basis for the continued planning for Brunnshög in general, and a basis for future procurement processes in particular. The project is specifically focusing on identifying areas where innovation-friendly procurement or pre-commercial procurement may be used.

Results and expected effects

The results: a) A list of prioritized needs, which will provide basis for the procurement of new waste solutions in Brunnshög, and b) A market research with international outlook and a project plan on how to proceed with the development and procurement stage. Lund Municipality and other stakeholders have a shared vision for the sustainable waste management systems to be developed in Brunnshög.

Approach and implementation

Step 1. Objectives and needs assessment for the future waste management system in Brunnshög: desktop studies, dialogue with reference group and a large number of actors. Step 2. Increased knowledge of current situation: Business intelligence, market research, study visits and continued dialogue with potential suppliers and other actors. Step 3. Needs assessment and engagement: Continued dialogue (increased focus on stakeholders within the Municipal organisation), workshop, reporting.
