Project duration January 2026 - September 2027
Status Ongoing

Purpose and goal

The aim of the project is to increase the pace and ability to introduce the value model in healthcare by pilot testing the model in operations so that both user perspectives and processes are identified and can be optimized. The project also aims to create a common understanding and transparency between healthcare and the medical technology industry regarding the type of information and data that needs to be shared to enable decisions about the implementation of new medical technology.

Expected effects and result

Increased purchases/procurement/contracts of medical technology that is either in an early phase of development or late phase in the development process. Decision-making basis, standardized methods and facilitation of dialogue between industry and healthcare. Access to innovative medical technology that directly improves patient safety and well-being in a long-term sustainable way. Transparent decision-making methods that increase the opportunity for industry to deliver value to healthcare.

Planned approach and implementation

Three work packages, of which WP 1 is the development of a governance and management model, method and implementation description. WP 2 focuses on finding the context; where, linked to other decision-making processes, the model should be introduced. The different regions test different contexts for where the value model fits into a decision-making process. WP3 focuses on the pedagogical part of the value model; how it should be packaged, communicated and anchored.
