Important results from the project
Creating and visualizing future visions based on the residents´ thoughts and wishes has been implemented and curated by LNU during the Framtidsdagarna Reusing abandoned countryside houses is based on local collaboration and non-profit commitment. Knowledge-raising lectures on the issue in theory and practice have been conducted during a conference day Effects of the work have led to a better understanding of the need and methods for the future dialogue between municipality and civil society.
Expected long term effects
Uppvidinge municipality has gained new knowledge that can refine and develop the planning of housing supply and rural development. Region Kronoberg and the BY2030 initiative. There will be a shift in focus where local commitment and participation as well as socially sustainable development of places and housing will come into more focus. Linnéuniversitetet, student work around Älghult as a location, new design projects and studies around visionary and co-operative construction and housing
Approach and implementation
Future visions with Speculative design as a method carried out by LNU with residents of Älghult. Created future visions were visualized in words and images during Framtidsdagarna, together with student projects and thesis from LNU The abandoned houses, mapping of the houses that are heading towards an uncertain future, what models, tools and solutions exist for reuse. Inspirational lectures on co-housing/building as well as local collaboration to show good examples
