Important results from the project

The TEAPaN project brings together actors from healthcare, academia, innovation and the private sector to develop knowledge, solutions and prototypes for how information from different types of vehicles and situations can contribute to better assessments and dispatch of resources in traffic accidents. Vehicles and road users generate incident alarms, information is sent to TEAPaN Services (TEAPaN-S) for analysis and evaluation, where results and data are made available to alarm and blue light actors for correct prioritization and handling.

Expected long term effects

The project has laid the foundation for a societal innovation that spans the private-public sector through an ecosystem for products and services based on open standards and interoperability. The infrastructure has been tested with synthetic data from the project´s service providers (Volvo Cars, Consat and Detecht); and prototypes for alarm operator user interface and a smart travel app have been developed. The work has been staged in a number of critical scenarios and generated a film that shows the potential for better assessment and dispatch in various types of accidents.

Approach and implementation

The project group has included representatives of all affected areas and interests. Through collaboration, the work in the project has reached the majority of the project´s objectives, and the results will be used by the parties to develop their respective services, offers and research areas, through spin-off projects and jointly with a view to a TEAPaN 2 with a focus on broad implementation.
