Purpose and goal
SASMAP-15mC aims to promote sustainable mobility by developing shared car and e-mobility solutions as alternatives to private car ownership within the 15-minute city concept. The project combines social science and technical methods in three European cities to identify needs, model demand, and co-create measures that reduce car use. The goal is evidence-based policies, governance models, and practical solutions for inclusive and efficient mobility systems.
Expected effects and result
SASMAP-15mC will deliver evidence-based strategies to scale car sharing and reduce private car use. It combines granular travel data, systemic governance analysis, and spatio-temporal modelling to design inclusive mobility solutions. Outputs include interactive visualisations, policy recommendations, and tools for municipalities and operators, enabling sustainable, user-centric 15-minute city transitions.
Planned approach and implementation
SASMAP-15mC is structured into seven interconnected work packages over 30 months. Core research WPs (system analysis, mobility mapping, modelling, and co-design) run in three case cities: Bristol, Graz, and Helsingborg. Activities include stakeholder workshops, household travel diaries, quantitative modelling, and visualisation. Management, dissemination, and knowledge exchange ensure integration, impact, and scalability.
