Project duration August 2012 - March 2013
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The concrete targets are to develop a strategic research and innovation agenda in broad cooperation between the Swedish forest and textile industries, and to apply to esteblish a strategic innovation area (SIO-program). A R&I-agenda has been worked out, and is available at www.miun.se/press/framtidsagenda. Application for SIO-program has been developet together with several other agendas, and with Skogsindustrierna as formal applicant.

Results and expected effects

A R&I-agenda has been developed and an application for SIO-program has been submitted. Continued cooperation is planned between the actors that cooperated during the agenda process, both within a SIO-program and in other ways. This will lead to new products and services from the Swedish forest, and strengthen the international competitiveness for the Swedish forest and textile industries.

Approach and implementation

The work was lead by a steering group and operatively performed by a smaller project group. Background was collected by reading and a larger questionnaire to Swedish actors in the area. Two larger workshops were performed, where a large number of representatives for different organisations have worked with challenges and opportunities. The engagement was large from the start and has grown during the work, which i a good rating for content and implementation.
