Important results from the project

The project aimed to develop a long-term plan for how the model "Efter Barnförhöret" (After the forensic interview) can be spread widely across the country. The conclusion from the project is that the model is appreciated and relatively easy to use. The project has resulted in a three-year plan focusing on Method, Organization, Evaluation and Decision and mandate. We believe that the project´s objective has been met. Particularly positive is that as many as 70 municipalities have reported interest in being part of the implementation of the plan if we receive funding from it.

Expected long term effects

If children and parents receive information and support after the child forensic interview the chances of negative spirals of violence can be reversed. Children can grow up without violence, and the emotional and social consequences of violence they are already exposed to can be reduced. Violence against children poses a serious risk for childrens health. By preventing violence against chldren (Agenda objective 16.2), great human suffering is avoided, but also great financial costs for society. The project is also expected to reduce the risk of unequal outcomes (objective 10.3).

Approach and implementation

All parts of the project have been carried out through: - Interviews and focus groups with therapists and managers in the social services. - Workshop with six trainers in the model to obtain their views. - En strategic analysis to identify further steps of support and treatment. - Contact with seventy municipalities interested in working according to the model. Data collection has shown prove to be valuable and has resulted in a three-year plan for implementing the working model.
