Purpose and goal
The project aims to develop and test an AI-based method that, using remote sensing data, other data sources and geographic analysis, improves understanding of subsurface structures in urban environments. The goal is to create an prototype that strengthens planning, preparedness and resilience in both civil and critical societal contexts.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to result in a first functional prototype capable of creating probability maps of underground infrastructure based on remote sensing and geographic data. The outcome will provide new insights into how this technology can be used to strengthen planning, preparedness and sustainable urban development. The project contributes to increased innovation capacity and knowledge within the Swedish space and geodata sector.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is carried out in four work packages: project management, data collection, model development, and user testing. The work starts in November 2025 and continues until August 2026. The method is developed step by step through analysis of remote sensing and geographic data. The project concludes with prototype testing and a plan for continued development towards higher maturity levels.
