Important results from the project

The aim of the project was to develop a new business collaboration model for a climate friendly food value chain, that was accepted by actors along the value chain. We have created a model for a local fund for climate investments in agriculture, which has received positive feedback from our project partners. Hence, we have achieved what we set out to do. In addition to this the project has contributed to a better understanding and stronger relationships among the partners along the value chain.

Expected long term effects

Hopefully the fund model that we have developed can (if and when implemented) contribute to more climate investments from farmers and therefore more robust farms and a more sustainable food production (primarily on Gotland but potentially also in other parts of Sweden).

Approach and implementation

The project has been run by Gotland Grönt Centrum and Science Park Gotland. We have followed our initial plan, with the following work packages: - Project management: operational and administrative progress - Benchmark study: desktop research to create basic understanding - Value chain dialogues and meetings: incl. farm visits - Model creation: incl. expert interviews and study - Final design and delivery: incl. roundtable discussion at Almedalen and report layout.
