SpaceTime MaaS- for commuting and private travelling

Reference number
Coordinator SpaceTime Communication AB - SpaceTime Communication
Funding from Vinnova SEK 748 600
Project duration October 2017 - October 2018
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim of the project was to - Test and evaluate a Combined Mobility Service for private travel for employees in an organization (Järfälla Municipality) using SpaceTime for business travel. The target has not been met because of changed conditions during the project. Strategic changes and delays of technical deliveries from suppliers (public transport supplier / car pool supplier) as well as changed organizational conditions of the test customer (new external Benefit Portal during the project period) has led to recurring delays and uncertainties regarding contract management.

Expected results and effects

The resources have been used to design and develop the spacetime system so that the project can be implemented when the systems and services that we depend on are ready to deliver what is needed. Design of link to Benify´s benefit portal, acquired by the customer during the project period, has also been implemented, which can lead to very good scaling possibilities in the future for the space-time solution (or other alternative supplier of similar services).

Planned approach and implementation

The project partner of the organization that was testing the system was unfortunately not aware of the simultaneous introduction of a whole new external solution for employee benefits. Much time and resources needed to be devoted to anchoring work for the project with a whole new service provider. Projects where multiple IT systems are to be linked together always pose a high risk of major delays. In such projects it is important that all parties are involved from the beginning and have funding to get high priority.
