Important results from the project

Sweden has several large groups with world-leading research on new technologies for solar electricity and direct conversion to solar fuels. There are also institutes and companies related to this research. The Solar Energy Platform Sweden has assembled Swedish research, development and enterprise in the area to influence the EU program H2020. On a long term we want to develop research and companies, and make Sweden a leading nation of knowledge, innovations and enterprise on the solar energy technologies of the future.

Expected long term effects

The Solar Energy Platform Sweden has grown and broadened with several new groups joining. We have worked actively to influence H2020 and the Joint Programs within EERA, which gathers stake holders in the European energy area. We have participated in several JP meetings, and though those managed to get call texts in the work programs, which fit Swedish interests. We have participated on a workshop organized by the Commission on future programs on solar fuels, planned for the work program 2018-2020, and the next frame program. We also participate in several newly funded EU projects.

Approach and implementation

To influence H2020 the most important ways have been active and direct participation in the relevant JPs, direct contact with the Commission Officers through the EU-projects in which we participate, and through workshops to which we have been invited. The Solar Energy Platform Sweden plans to develop its internal activities and broaden out towards stakeholders in different sectors.
