Call Strengthening Swedish aerospace research and innovation through international collaboration - 2026

Purpose and goal

The project aims to prepare international collaboration for a new waveform technology for robust airborne communications. The goal is to identify and establish dialogue with strategic foreign partners, gather international requirements for high-mobility environments, and conduct a technical feasibility analysis focusing on link performance, Doppler resilience, and low probability of detection/interception. This will result in a roadmap for a subsequent international innovation project.

Expected effects and result

The project delivers a defined requirement set for airborne systems, a technical feasibility analysis, and a concrete collaboration roadmap with international partners. The effect is reduced technical and strategic risks for the next stage. Long-term, this positions Swedish waveform technology internationally, strengthens industrial competitiveness in autonomous aviation, and secures critical capabilities in robust, low-detection communications.

Planned approach and implementation

The project will be executed in three work packages (WP) over six months. WP1 focuses on market analysis and mapping to identify and establish dialogue with strategic international partners. WP2 covers requirements gathering and a technical feasibility analysis, evaluating waveform performance and design assumptions against airborne scenarios through simulations. WP3 integrates the results into a concrete collaboration roadmap and defines the project logic for the subsequent international stage.
