| Call | Shelters of the future - practical prototypes for shelters and protected spaces of tomorrow |
Purpose and goal
RUM48 will develop and test a modular system to quickly activate existing premises as safe, understandable and usable protected spaces. Med Habo municipality as need owner and example municipality is testing the project to see how physical functions and activation methodology can contribute to orientation, privacy, rest, hygiene and information.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to result in practical prototypes, tested principles and lessons learned on how protected spaces can be designed, organized and activated in existing premises. The results will create understanding, spark dialogue and provide input on how municipalities, property owners and other actors can further develop strengthened civil protection and local preparedness.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is being implemented jointly by Habo Utveckling and Habo municipality through needs assessment, scenario-based development, construction of a test environment, practical prototyping, testing and evaluation. Habo municipality contributes with a municipal preparedness and security perspective as need owner, while Habo Utveckling leads development, design and documentation.
