Important results from the project

The aim of the project was to develop directives and action plans for managing intangible assets. The concrete goal was to form an IP strategy that the company can rely on in future decisions These objectives were well met and the work resulted in an action plan where the company has a clear picture of how and which IP should be managed. The most important thing, according to the company, was to understand the value of the different IPs and how to protect even open-source material.

Expected long term effects

The result was very good and it provides a strong starting point for continued work with IP. The work has increased the understanding of the complexity of IP issues and points to consider, this has given the company a deeper understanding of how IP should be protected when the company expands its operations globally and what risks exist.

Approach and implementation

The project started with an analysis of the company technology and existing IP. In the analysis of the company, a workshop was conducted to understand the values that exist. After that, a follow-up was done on the technique where we went into depth together with our technical team to identify which parts of the system where IP exists. After that, IPQ conducted a strategic analysis based on our assets. A workshop was then conducted to evaluate the assets, which then formed the basis for the action plan.
